UPON GRADUATION FROM A CANADIAN UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE

  • Students with 2-4 years of continuous full-time study can apply for 3 years Open Work Permit and with 1 year of study can apply for 1 year of Open Work Permit.
  • Students with 1 year of work experience under Post Grad work permit in Canada are eligible to apply for Permanent Residency for Canada.

LIST OF DOCUMENT REQUIRED

  • Letter of Acceptance from a Recognised University.
  • English proficiency requirements g. IELTS, TOEFL
  • A certified copy of your academic transcripts, educational certificate (Degree, Diploma etc.)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds i.e. education loan/ bank statements/GIC.
  • Photo copies of first and last pages of your passport.
  • Passport sized photographs.

Student intake period in Canada takes place in the month of September(Fall) and January (Winter). A very few colleges however still consider taking in students during the month of May (summer) depending on the program. Because visa procedure can take up to 6 to 8 months, it is advisable that students consider applying as early as possible.

Admission Requirements for Students:

All students are required to obtain a student authorization and Temporary Resident Visa (Exception available) before entering to Canada for their studies. Admission to an institution does not guarantee the issuance of student”s visa. Students must meet the requirement of the immigration Acts and Regulations of Canada.

 

Before getting the Student Authorization:

  • Students must apply to any Canadian University or college based on their academic profile.
  • College or University issues Offer of Admission to the foreign students if their application is accepted.
  • The student applies for the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) at the overseas Canadian Visa offices (Citizens of certain countries do not need TRV).
  • If the TRV application meets all the requirements as per the IRPA, visa is issued to the foreign Student.

After Arrival in Canada:

  • Upon arrival in Canada, the foreign students are issued the Student Authorization (Study Permit) and Off Campus Work Permit (20 hrs maximum while studying).
  • Students can work FULL TIME during semester breaks.

Upon Graduation:
